Two nights back(MJD 57742), there was an instance of XMID going red for cart 14. So, decided to examine the behaviour of XMID values for each of the carts. All carts have XMID values within the current allowed values except for cart 14. For cart 14, it is in the border. Occasionally it goes above the allowed ranges. Here, is the plot of the XMID values for cart 14 as a function of MJD. The red and yellow horizontal lines mark the red and yellow warning ranges in SoS.
It is clear that after the 2016 summer shut-down, the spectrograph 2 XMID values have moved closer to the edge of allowed ranges. This may be because, we swapped the spectrograph 2 CCDs and this process would have changed the actual XMIDs.
Re-evaluated the allowable XMID ranges from the sparse plugged data obtained on MJD 57632 and updated the values in idlspec2d. As the changes are small, I decided to submit the changes to the trunk version.
I also changed the survey-mode keyword of eboss23 plates to 'ELG-EBOSS'. From next plate-run onwards, it is good to include this as a part of plate design process.
