I also submitted a small batch of 18 NGC LRG/QSO plates (2016.08.f.eboss) with a need by date of 29-September-2016. This is to patch the holes in the observing window just after LST=5 hours.
New information from Kyle: The drill shop at university of Washington is only available for SDSS for half the month. The remaining time, it has obligations to PanSTARRS, UW work etc. In a single day, the drill shop can drill a maximum of 8 plates. That means we cannot ask for more than 80-100 plates in a single month. To accommodate other projects as well, then eBOSS should not submit more than 40-50 plates a month. We just submitted 140 plates for two months. Probably that is not good. But, Kyle said if they complain, we can relax the need by dates. Anyway the delay in ELG plates are due to the non-standard tiling. Can't help it. Hope Demitri doesn't complain a lot.
